Gifford has been a patron of numerous groups that help children including Childhelp, the Association to Benefit Children and Cassidy's Place. The two houses that were named to honor her children were the Cassidy's Place and Cody House. As a humanitarian, she was awarded an honorary diploma from Marymount University in recognition of her labor relations work.
