Jennifer Garner is a West Virginia native born in Houston on the 17th of April, 1972. William John Garner worked as the chemist of Union Carbide. Patricia Ann Garner, the mother of Patricia Ann, taught at the local college. To follow in the footsteps of her father she earned a degree in chemical engineering. She moved into New York in order to fulfill her ambitions as an actor. The Broadway role was accompanied by a stint at a local establishment. Her husband of the first time Scott Foley met her on the TV show "Felicity," where she played a cameo. Garner began her career in Alias which is an action-thriller. Her first major role was the widely-praised romance 13 Going on 30. In it she played the young woman trapped within a 30+ year old's body. Garner picked Gary Winick to direct the film, and they continued to look for other projects together until his death in 2011. Garner, who was designated as an ambassador for artists with Save the Children U.S.A. for 2009, played an important role within the organization. This role entails promoting literacy, nutrition, and early education. In 2014, Garner has been a participant on the board of trustees of this organization, pushing for early elementary education. In her role as an ambassador, Garner visits often with the families who participate in Early Steps to School Success the program which trains parents on ways to support youngsters in their learning.
